A pig liquid feeder is a feeder for a group of pigs where the dry feed is dispensed into the trough by the pig itself through a valve mechanism and then the pig itself can make a liquid feed of the dry feed and water, called mash, with the drinking nipple present in the liquid feeder.
In the early 1980s, Bert Verbakel, former pig farmer and the founder and owner of Verba, invented the liquid feeder and further developed it into the current M-Series feeder. This makes the M-series liquid feeders the single truly original liquid feeders.
The VERBA M series liquid feeders for fattening pigs are suitable for crumb, pellet and meal feed. The pig feeder is equipped with a unique dosing mechanism with a stainless steel drinking nipple. This feeding system mixes the feed and water in the correct ratio due to the natural eating movements of the pig, thus achieving optimal feed conversion and making this feeder cost effective. The best dose of feed is 4 grams per valve movement. The feeder should be solidly mounted on the back and should be firmly placed on the ground by means of mounting angles, preferably in a corner of the pen. The double versions are available in side/side model and back/back model allowing larger groups of pigs to be fed. The light interior of the Verba liquid feeders ensures better feed intake by the pigs and easy hygiene control. These M-series feeders can be ordered with a left and/or right water line. We recommend keeping the water line on the aisle side.
The M19100 liquid feeder are suitable for pellet feed, pellet feed and crumb feed, and the MU19100 liquid feeder are suitable for meal feed.
The designated number of pigs is slightly higher for a liquid feeder than for a dry feeder. This is because the limiting factor in determining the number of pigs per feeder is the length of time a pig spends eating. This duration is slightly lower with a liquid feeder than with a dry feeder.
