The Dutch Pig Innovation Centre in Sterksel is the first pig farm to adopt the StableStable concept, which was developed in collaboration with L. Verbakel B.V. After weaning, the piglets move from their farrowing pens to their new accommodation. The transition is less stressful. It is one of the features of the StableStable concept that encourages natural behaviour as a guarantee of a healthy and stable life for the pigs, which in turn enhances their welfare and improves the farm’s profit margins per animal.
