On 10 January, De Ploeg Techniek from Helmond installed our new ERBA deburring drum at our premises. Using ceramic cones, compound soap, water and the rotation of this deburring drum, we are able to remove sharper edges and burrs from our stainless steel semi-finished products. This ensures that fitters do not injure themselves during installation. When using the feed troughs, this process also prevents the pigs from injuring themselves on any sharp edges on our feed troughs. What’s more, the products also have a better finish. We used to do this, of course, but it was done entirely by hand using an abrasive belt. This involved a great deal of monotonous manual labour. Now we can deploy this capacity elsewhere, thereby increasing our overall production capacity, whilst also ensuring that this monotonous work is carried out by a machine from now on.
